January 10 – 18, 2026 (9 days)
Welcome to the captivating world of sailing in the French West Indies – Martinique, Dominica, Les Saintes and Guadeloupe.
During this skippered sailing holidays on a private catamaran in the Caribbean you will discover Dominica – the “hidden gem” of the Caribbean, home to 365 rivers and breathtaking, unspoiled, Martinique – a touch of France in the heart of the Caribbean, Les Saintes featuring one the most beautiful bays in the world and Guadeloupe – butterfly-shaped and famous for its incredible snorkelling in the Jean Cousteau Reserve – one the Caribbean’s most stunning reef system.
We’ll welcome you on board Akua Aminata with a refreshing cocktail between 5 and 6 PM. The skipper will introduce the sailing itinerary, safety procedures, and living arrangements on the catamaran. Afterwards, we’ll do some shopping for the next few days and head to Kokoa Rum Bar for dinner together.
If you want to explore Martinique, there’s an optional tour where we’ll visit the Jardin de Balata Botanical Garden and the Habitation Clément rum distillery, which is surrounded by lovely gardens and a cool sculpture park that dates back to 1774.
If you’d rather stay on the catamaran, you can just relax and enjoy the amazing views of Martinique’s coast as we sail from Le Marin to St. Pierre.
Today we’re sailing to Dominica, known as the “quintessence of the Caribbean.” It’s the longest sailing stretch, so the captain will be busy, but you can just kick back and relax. 🙂
Time to chill after a long day of sailing and check out one of the Caribbean’s best-kept secrets — Dominica. How about a rowboat ride down the Indian River, spotting the “witch house” from Pirates of the Caribbean II, and then kicking back with a game of dominoes at a local jungle bar?
There’s never enough time to take in all the beauty of untouched Dominica, so let’s go for another trip! Today we’ll soak up the amazing views of the Red Rocks overlooking the emerald Atlantic, check out a super local chocolate factory, and take a swim in a stunning bay. Plus, we’ll stop for lunch with some tasty local food and try the best Rum Punch in the whole Caribbean.
If the wind’s plays along, we’ll sail to Marie Galante – an island that’s kept its old-school charm, known for having the most windmills in the Caribbean
Today we’re off to Les Saintes, a small group of pristine islands, but only two are lived on — Terre de Haut and Terre de Bas. We’ll be visiting Terre de Haut, which will wow us with Saintes Bay, one of UNESCO’s World’s Most Beautiful Bays. We’ll also take a nice stroll around one of the prettiest port towns in the Caribbean.
After breakfast, we’ll head over to Guadeloupe, which is shaped like a butterfly. One side, Basse-Terre, was called “The island of beautiful water” by the ancient Karukera tribe — it’s mountainous and volcanic, packed with forests, rivers, and waterfalls. The other side, Grande-Terre, is often called the little Brittany of the Antilles because of its sharp cliffs that look like the ones in Brittany, France.
We will stop at Jacques Cousteau Underwater Nature Reserve, where we’ll snorkel among coral reefs and check out the amazing underwater world.
This is a lazy day, which we will spend snorkelling in the coral reefs and admire Jacques Cousteau Underwater Nature Reserve.
It is a short sailing day, so we will have time to explore Basse-Terre, volcanic, rich of forests, rivers and waterfalls part of Guadeloupe there is an optional tour, during which we will visit w World Biorsphere Reseve – Guadeloupe National Park, Jardin Botanique de Deshaies and take a Route de la Traverse which will take us from sugar can fields to dense jungle.
