New Year’s Eve Caribbean Cruise 2026 / 2027!
We’ll celebrate New Year’s Eve in the magical Tobago Cays barefoot on the beach, under a sky full of stars, surrounded by an international crew of sailors from neighboring yachts. Before the countdown begins, we’ll treat ourselves to a fresh, island‑style Lobster Barbecue prepared right on the beach by the local islanders — the perfect warm‑up for a night of ocean‑breeze vibes, good company, music and pure Caribbean magic.
Between 5 – 6 pm, we will welcome everyone on board the Akua Aminata with a refreshing cocktail on the AKUA AMINATA board. The skipper will introduce the sailing itinerary, safety rules, and the living arrangements on the catamaran. After that, we’ll head to the store to grab food and drinks for the next few days, and then we’ll all go out together for dinner at the iconic Kokoa Rum bar.
After breakfast, the skipper will brief us on the day’s itinerary, and after enjoying our morning coffee, we’ll head out for some last-minute fresh shopping. Once everyone is ready, we will set sail on the first leg of our journey from Martinique (Le Marin) towards St. Lucia (Soufriere).
Today, we have the longest sailing leg ahead of us. We will arrive at St. Vincent, the largest island in the country of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Our destination is Wallilabou Bay, which will welcome us with props from the “Pirates of the Caribbean” movies, as scenes for “The Curse of the Black Pearl” and “Dead Man’s Chest” were filmed here.
For those who want to experience a bit of the St. Vincent vibe, after breakfast, there is an opportunity for a short excursion to Dark View Falls, black waterfalls where water cascades down basalt rocks from a high cliff.
During lunchtime, we will set sail from St. Vincent towards Bequia, known as the “Big Little Island,” the second largest island in the Grenadines with an area of 18 km2.
Today we will sail to the magical Tobago Cays – a group of five tiny, uninhabited islands known as the “crown jewels” of the southern Grenadines, thanks to their stunning golden beaches and vibrant coral reefs. We’ll anchor within the Tobago Cays Marine Park, a nature reserve surrounded by a double horseshoe-shaped coral reef, making the waters calm and shallow — perfect for snorkeling and admiring the coral and turtles.
We will celebrate NEW YEAR 2027 barefoot on the beach, under a sky full of stars, surrounded by an international crew of sailors from neighboring yachts. Before the countdown begins, we’ll treat ourselves to a fresh, island‑style Lobster Barbecue prepared right on the beach by the local islanders — the perfect warm‑up for a night of ocean‑breeze vibes, good company, music and pure Caribbean magic.
After a morning stroll along the seaside promenade, we’ll sail to Mayreau — the smallest island in the Grenadines, covering just 3.8 km² and home to around 300 people. We’ll anchor our catamaran in the beautiful Salt Whistle Bay — a naturally sheltered bay with golden sands and stunning turquoise waters.
In the afternoon, it’s worth taking a walk up the hill to see the stone Catholic church built in 1921 and enjoy breathtaking views of the Tobago Cays. In the evening, Donna will prepare a true Caribbean feast for us on the beach. So far, no one has ever been anything less than amazed by both the vibe of the place and the food!
We’re heading back to Bequia to soak up its unforgettable Caribbean vibe one more time. We’ll have plenty of time to explore. It’s worth taking a ride in the local transport — a kind of windowless taxi — to tour the island, visit the ruins of Fort Hamilton, and enjoy stunning views of Admiral Bay from the hilltop. In the afternoon, we will visit the Rendezvous Bar, where locals mingle with tourists and you can always meet interesting people.
We’re sailing to St. Vincent, but this time we’ll anchor in Chateaubelair Bay. It’s a very picturesque spot, with views of beautiful rows of palm trees and untouched coastline.
Returning to St. Lucia, we’ll stop at the legendary Marigot Bay — one of the most beautiful bays in the Caribbean, postcard-perfect and the most sheltered bay in the region. It’s here that scenes from “Doctor Dolittle” and “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl” were filmed.
Toady you will enjoy a break from sailing. This is a perfect time to visit beautiful St Lucia. You can visit Diamond Botanical Gardens, where the beauty and lush greenery of the tropics provide a backdrop to the Diamond Waterfall and then Sulphur Springs, the hottest and most active geothermal area in the Lesser Antilles, where you can enjoy a mud bath followed by refreshing dip in Pitons Falls
After breakfast (around 10 a.m.), guests flying home from St. Lucia will disembark from Akua Aminata.
The last day of sailing in paradise is ahead of us. If the wind allows, we’ll stop at Saint-Anne for one last swim on one of Martinique’s most beautiful beaches. After arriving at Le Marin marina, we will have a farewell dinner.
Getting off the catamaran is around 10am so you will have plenty of time to leisurely return to Fort-de-France and catch your flight back home.

Not included:
Food and Drinks on board
We usually buy groceries for breakfast, lunch and afternoon snacks. If they wish, guests can cook on board in the evening, but experience shows that they usually prefer to have dinner ashore in one of the cozy restaurants or taverns. In such cases, guests cover the Skipper’s dinner as well.
